Author Submission Guidelines

NFSU Journal of Forensic Justice invites original and previously unpublished articles, notes, comments, and book reviews for publication in its forthcoming issue.

All submissions shall be made according to the following guidelines:

Eligibility:

The Journal invites submissions from academicians, professionals, research scholars, and students enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program in a university.

Authorship:

The Journal allows co-authorship up to two authors.

Kinds of Submissions, and Word Limit:

  • Articles: 6000-8000 words
  • Notes/Comments: 3000 – 4000 words. These may include critical assessments of contemporary adjudications, policy decisions, legislations, or developments in the field of science of technology relevant to the field of forensic justice.
  • Book Reviews: 1500 – 2500 words. This may include critical analysis of the arguments and findings expressed in recently published books related to the field of forensic justice.
  • The aforementioned word limit does not include the footnotes.

Submission pre-requisites:

1). The submitted manuscript must not contain any reference to the identity of author/authors. This shall enable anonymity required for review of the submission.

2). The details of the authors – Name, Affiliation, Position/Year of Study, Email-Id, Contact Details, and ORCID ID – must be submitted in a separate Word document.

Manuscript Formatting and Style:

  • Submissions of any of the aforementioned kind of manuscript must be made in the Word format. Submissions made in pdf or other formats shall be rejected at the preliminary stage.
  • All submissions (except Book Reviews) must contain an Abstract (of no more than 250 words) and at least 5 keywords.
  • The title of the paper must be reflective of the arguments portrayed in the manuscript. The title must be in no more than 15 words. The title shall be kept in Justified alignment with the font size of 16.
  • The main text of the manuscript must be in the font style Times New Roman with font size 12 and line spacing of 1.5.
  • 5. The footnotes must be in the font style Times New Roman with font size 10 and line spacing of 1.
  • 6. The citation style must be OSCOLA (4th Edition). Please note that only one citation style must be adopted throughout the manuscript.
  • 7. The main text and the footnotes must be kept in the Justified alignment.
  • 8. The content of the manuscript must be in paragraph format. The Journal discourages the use of bullet or point-by-point expression by the authors.
  • 9. The format for First, Second and Third Level Headings is given below:
    • a. First Level Heading: e.g., I. INTRODUCTION. The First Level Headings must be typed in capital letters, and kept in Center Alignment. They must be in font style Times New Roman with font size 14, and shall be kept in bold. The First Level Headings must be preceded by Roman Numerals.
    • b. Second Level Heading: e.g., A. Second Level Heading. The Second Level Headings must be kept in Justified Alignment. They must be in font style Times New Roman, Font Size 12, and shall be kept in italics. The Second Level Headings must be preceded by Alphabet, in increasing order, depicting their location within a First Level Heading.
    • c. Third Level heading: e.g., 1. Third Level Heading. The Third Level Headings must be kept in Justified Alignment. They must be in font style Times New Roman and font size 12.
  • 10. All submissions shall be subject to the plagiarism policy adopted by the Journal.
